Last week, Call-In Homecare had the pleasure of partnering with the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) to host a delightful vintage tea party. This event was a wonderful opportunity to bring our service users and Care Assistants together, encouraging a sense of community and connection across Scotland.
Edinburgh Office Celebrations
In our Edinburgh office, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and nostalgia as our colleagues embraced the vintage tea party theme. With many of our colleagues in their finest vintage dresses, they welcomed some of our service users to join in on the occasion. The office was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting environment that transported everyone back in time.
The highlight of the event was the home baking, lovingly prepared by our team. The delicious treats were enjoyed by all, adding a sweet touch to the afternoon. To make the day even more special, we held a raffle to raise money for Royal Voluntary Service. Thanks to the generosity of our colleagues and service users, we raised an impressive £120, which will go towards supporting the invaluable work of Royal Voluntary Service.
West of Scotland Celebrations
Meanwhile, in the West of Scotland, our services organised individual vintage tea party events in the homes of our service users. Each service user received a box of afternoon tea treats, complete with sandwiches, scones, and cakes. These thoughtful gestures brought joy and a sense of togetherness to their day, making them feel cherished and appreciated.
The individual tea parties were a testament to the dedication and compassion of our Care Assistants, who went above and beyond to ensure that each service user had a memorable experience. One of our Care Assistants shared, “Morag was delighted to have some time to sit with me and have a wee chat. She said it was a very nice gesture from our company and made such a lovely change to her everyday routine having her carer not only to prepare the lunch for her but sit for a while for a cup of tea and chat. She also said the food was lovely she and enjoyed it very much, as did I”. The positive response from the vintage tea parties have been heartwarming and truly embody what it means to care.
Fundraising Efforts for the Royal Voluntary Service
In addition to the in-person events, we are also holding an online raffle to continue our fundraising efforts for Royal Voluntary Service. Participants have the chance to win a luxury afternoon tea for two, making it an exciting opportunity for everyone to get involved and support a great cause. The online raffle has generated a lot of interest, and we are hopeful that it will raise significant funds to further support the mission of Royal Voluntary Service.
The Impact of the Vintage Tea Party
The vintage tea party was more than just an event; it was a celebration of community, compassion, and connection. It provided a platform for our service users and Care Assistants to come together, share stories, and create lasting memories. The positive impact of the event has been evident from the expressions of gratitude from both our service users and Care Assistants.
Pictured above is our service user Fiona and Care Assistant, Jackie, enjoying their tea party. This was the first time Fiona has been out of bed since her Christmas shopping day, so she made the big effort to get hoisted and sit up to enjoy her day fully, an excellent outcome for her.
At Call-In Homecare, we are committed to creating meaningful experiences for our service users and supporting charitable organisations like Royal Voluntary Service. The success of the vintage tea party is a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of fostering a sense of community within our services which we hope to continue on a smaller scale each month.
Looking Ahead
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the event and contributed to its success. Your support and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to hosting more events like this in the future. Together, we can continue to make a positive impact in the lives of our service users and support the incredible work of organisations like Royal Voluntary Service.
As we look ahead, we are excited to explore new opportunities to bring joy and connection to our service users. Whether it’s through themed events, fundraising initiatives, or everyday acts of kindness, we remain dedicated to our mission of providing exceptional care and support.
Thank you once again to everyone who made the vintage tea party a success. We are proud to be part of such a caring and compassionate community, and we look forward to many more positive occasions in the future!
