Disability Living Allowance

If you are under the age of 65 and have care needs or problems getting a bout you may be entitled to claim Disability Living Allowance (DLA). You can claim this tax-free benefit even if you are working or if you live alone. This benefit is also available for children.

To qualify for this benefit you must have a long-term illness or have a disability (physical or mental). There are two components to this benefit and you may qualify for either the Care or the Mobility Component.

Disability Living Allowance is a benefit that can be paid on top of other benefits you may already receive. The state benefits you already receive will not be affected by claiming  DLA and you may even be entitled to an increase or additional benefits.

To claim Disability Living Allowance you need to complete a claim form. Our Advisors can assist you with this. Alternatively, if you want to find out more and/or download a claim form, visit the government website below or contact the Benefit Enquiry Line on 0800 24 33 55. Please note that this will direct you away from our website!
